CLEVELAND (AP) - A member of the notorious street gang Heartless Felons who was 16 when authorities say he robbed stores and killed a clerk at one of them in Cleveland has been sentenced to 33 years to life in prison.

The teen pleaded guilty on Tuesday to a host of charges including aggravated murder and participating in Heartless Felons crimes while he was incarcerated at the Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) County Juvenile Detention Center. He was prosecuted as an adult.

Prosecutors say he robbed four stores in summer 2013. At the last one, he fatally shot a clerk and also shot the store’s owner, who survived.

The teen was among 43 juveniles who were charged in the crackdown on the Heartless Felons, 17 of whom were prosecuted as adults.
