WINOOSKI, Vt. (AP) - The Winooski city manager say a plan for paid on-street parking downtown will likely be put in place in mid-May.

The city council on Monday approved the resolution for paid parking at a rate of $1 per hour.

The Burlington Free Press (https://bfpne.ws/1Fiz9Re) reports that the paid parking would be near the Winooski River on the southern part of the city, Maple and Mansion streets in the northern end, Hood Street to the east, and Mayo Street on the west.

Paid parking will be enforced between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, except on Maple, Mansion, Hood and Mayo streets.

City Mayor Seth Leonard says “This is where parking everywhere is going.”
