MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a woman is in custody after a Mesa crash in which the driver of the other car was left hanging onto her hood.

Court records show the driver hanging on Kasana Tracey Oslin Querta’s hood told police he also saw a small child in Querta’s vehicle who wasn’t in a car seat.

Mesa police were called Tuesday after witnesses say Querta tried to leave the scene.

She reportedly drove for a short distance with the driver of the other car hanging onto her hood until he was able to safely let go.

Police say Querta showed signs of impairment including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and the strong odor of alcohol.

Querta is being held on suspicion of child endangerment, aggravated DUI and failure to stop at a collision.
