WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - An 18-year-old Wasilla driver was flown to Anchorage in serious condition after his dirt bike collided with an SUV on the southwest side of Wasilla.

Alaska State Troopers say Gunar Cruikshank was wearing a helmet Tuesday night when he crashed into an SUV driven by 16-year-old Ryan Hanson of Wasilla.

Troopers say Hanson stopped at a stop sign and entered the intersection of Red Birch Drive and Overby Street. Cruikshank was driving west on Overby and he struck the left rear passenger side door of the SUV.

Cruikshank was transported by LifeMed helicopter to Providence Alaska Medical Center.

Hanson was not injured.
