JEANERETTE, La. (AP) - Two Iberia Parish men have been arrested in a fatal crash that resulted in the death of a Jeanerette police officer.

Louisiana state police say in a news release that 21-year-old Antre T. Joseph was arrested for manslaughter and aggravated flight from an officer. A second man, 57-year- old Clint A. Rogers was arrested for criminal mischief. Both were booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.

The accident happened just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Troopers identified officer as 22-year old Juandre Gilliam. He had been on the police force for two years. Troopers say Gilliam died at a New Iberia hospital.

State police say during the chase Gilliam lost control of his patrol car and crashed.

Toxicology tests are pending

The accident still remains under investigation.
