ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage and university police are looking for a suspect in a reported sexual assault on a trail near the University of Alaska Anchorage campus.

Anchorage television station KTUU (https://is.gd/fRtv3Q) reports the assault occurred just after 11 p.m. Wednesday on the Mosquito Lake system. Police say the suspect spent much of the day Wednesday with the victim before the assault occurred.

Police spokeswoman Anita Shell declined to elaborate on the relationship between the victim and suspect.

The suspect is described as a heavyset white man in his 20s with freckles and dark hair. He was described as being between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8 tall, and was wearing a black jacket with a white checkered lining, as well as a red stocking cap.

According to authorities, the suspect ran south along Elmore Road.
