PHOENIX (AP) - The board that oversees Arizona’s state university system is scheduling a multi-step process leading up to a May 4 decision on setting rates for tuition and fees for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Recommendations by the presidents of Arizona State University, the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University are to be released online Friday.

The regents on April 20 will hold an interactive hearing at eight university campuses across the state to hear comments from students and the public regarding the tuition proposals.

The universities’ presidents will present their proposals in person to the regents during an April 27 live-streamed workshop at ASU in Tempe.

The May 4 meeting during which the regents are expected to set tuition and fees will be held at the board’s office in Phoenix.
