KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. (AP) - A suburban Philadelphia school bus driver has been arrested after police said he left a 7-year-old girl inside the vehicle all day.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports (https://bit.ly/1aO3NdZ ) 66-year-old Iver Rosenlund Jr. was charged Thursday with two counts of endangerment.

Rosenlund was fired by the Krapf Bus Co. on March 31. Officials say that’s when he picked up his only student, drove past her school and parked the van at the bus company lot in Kennett Square.

The child’s mother called the Kennett Consolidated School District after the school reported her daughter absent. The girl was found unharmed.

Rosenlund could not be reached for comment. In an interview with police, Rosenlund said medication had made him drowsy.

District officials say Rosenlund violated rules on checking for passengers before leaving the bus.
