KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) - A 56-year-old Holualoa motorcyclist has died after a three-vehicle crash on Hawaii’s Big Island.
West Hawaii Today, a Kailua-Kona newspaper, (https://is.gd/tIRTv8) reports Robert Pfleger was eastbound on Hina Lani Street Tuesday afternoon when a westbound Jeep Cherokee turned left and collided head-on with Pfleger’s motorcycle.
Police say the Jeep then struck a truck heading north on Kamanu Street.
Pfleger was wearing a helmet. He was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The people in the truck and Jeep were not hurt.
The Jeep driver, 31-year-old Anna Veverko of Kailua-Kona, was arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide and later released as the investigation continues.
There is no telephone listing for Veverko in Hawaii and she could not be reached for comment Thursday.
