MISSION BEND, Texas (AP) - Authorities say a suburban Houston woman was fatally stabbed by her fiance just hours after law officers had gone to her home on a family violence call.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Thursday that 56-year-old Osa Alohaneke has been charged with murder. He was being held without bond at the county jail.

Deputies arrived at the Mission Bend home Wednesday night and found 52-year-old Evelyne Ebane Epiepang dead inside. Her sister was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life threatening.

Deputies earlier in the day had received a call from the woman but when they arrived Alohaneke had left.

Online jail records do not indicate an attorney for Alohaneke who could address the murder charge.
