GRETNA, La. (AP) - A Jefferson Parish man has been convicted of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a local rapper during a dispute outside a Harvey bar last year.

Nola.comThe Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1Fmpxdw ) a parish jury handed down the verdict Wednesday to 25-year-old Devin Bonilla.

Authorities say 21-year-old Bowie Richard, who performed as Yung Kaptin, was celebrating with celebrating with friends after a Jan. 18, 2014, performance when he became involved in a confrontation and was shot outside a bar on the parish’s west bank.

District Judge Ellen Kovach has scheduled sentencing for April 16.

Bonilla faces a possible life sentence.
