OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Creighton forward Leon Gilmore III is planning to transfer to a school where he can get more playing time.

Bluejays coach Greg McDermott announced Gilmore’s decision on Wednesday.

Gilmore was the only true freshman to see playing time for the Bluejays this past season. The native of Manvel, Texas, appeared in eight games and averaged 1.1 points and 1.1 rebounds in just under 5 minutes a game.

McDermott said he’s sorry to see Gilmore leave the program and that he wishes him the best.
