ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities in Los Angeles County say a woman was abducted and taken to her attacker’s home where she was repeatedly raped.

A sheriff’s statement says the 25-year-old woman was walking near a gas station in the Arcadia area when the man grabbed her before dawn Wednesday and carried her to his car.

The statement says he drove the victim to his home where he sexually assaulted her continuously.

She escaped in the afternoon after about 11 hours and briefly talked to a neighbor before he dragged her back into the house.

The neighbor called authorities, and deputies heard a woman screaming when they arrived. The suspect fled through a side window.

After a search of several hours they found and arrested 29-year-old Philippe Lutete, who is out on bond with a similar past arrest. It wasn’t clear if he has an attorney.
