MERCER ISLAND, Wash. (AP) - Police in the Seattle suburb of Mercer Island say a 40-year-old man died after a wall fell on him at the construction site where his family was building a new home.

KIRO-TV reports (https://is.gd/xHAmo0 ) that police say Wednesday’s death of Jack Chen was a tragic accident and there is no criminal investigation.

Cmdr. Leslie Burns said the man was having a new home built and was probably interested in the progress.

Burns said there were four workers putting up a wall when it started to slip. They backed away and the wall came down. Burns says that “unbeknownst to them, the homeowner was there and probably came in at the last minute and was probably trying to help them.”

KIRO says Chen was a dentist in Renton.
