DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (AP) - Orange County sheriff’s officials say a motorcycle deputy has been injured in a freeway crash that has snarled traffic on a Los Angeles County freeway.

The California Highway Patrol says the crash occurred shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday on State Route 57 in Diamond Bar.

Sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock tells City News Service the officer, who has not been identified, was hospitalized for injuries that are not believed life-threatening.

Commuter traffic was backed up for miles while an investigation was conducted into the circumstances of the crash.
