WAVERLY, N.Y. (AP) - State police say they’ve charged a 31-year-old man with stealing more than $1 million from his upstate New York employer.

Troopers say Thursday that the state police Special Investigations Unit in Binghamton arrested Adam Madigan of Waverly on April 2 and charged him with grand larceny.

Investigators say the arrest is the result of a yearlong investigation into the falsification of business records and misappropriation of vehicle ownership documents from Straight Line LLC in the Tioga County village of Waverly, on the Pennsylvania border 30 miles west of Binghamton.

No other information on the case has been released by state police. It couldn’t immediately be determined from the county district attorney’s office if Madigan is being held in jail or if he has a lawyer.
