WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) - Sen. Susan Collins is delivering another address on the importance of the “art of compromise.”

The Republican is speaking at the George J. Mitchell International Lecture Series Thursday evening at Colby College. Mitchell - who represented Maine in the U.S. Senate for 15 years and is credited with brokering the peace agreement in Northern Ireland - will be the special guest at the event hosted by the Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement.

Collins is serving her fourth term in the Senate, where she has built a reputation as a dealmaker between the two deeply divided parties. But she says it’s increasingly difficult to bring the parties together.
