SNOW HILL, Md. (AP) - A man who pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of a Delaware woman who disappeared in 2007 and whose body was found years later has been sentenced.

Twenty-four-year-old Justin Michael Hadel of College Station, Texas, was sentenced to 30 years in prison Thursday in Worcester County Circuit Court in Maryland.

Hadel pleaded guilty to killing 26-year-old Christine Sheddy of Milford, Delaware. Sheddy, the mother of three, was staying at her mother’s home in Bowers Beach, Delaware, when she vanished in 2007. Her body was found in 2010 on the grounds of a bed and breakfast in Snow Hill, Maryland.

Prosecutors say Hadel attacked Sheddy with a two-by-four piece of lumber.

In court, Sheddy’s mother, Lynn Dodenhoff, says her family has been dealt a life sentence because of Hadel.
