VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say someone deliberately set a huge fire that tore through a Vestavia Hills condominium complex.
Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/1VTdZo5 ) that eight units were destroyed in a building that has been under construction for years when the blaze broke out early Thursday at the Vestavia Terrace Condominiums.
Vestavia Hills Fire Lt. Ryan Farrell said the fire has been ruled incendiary.
The blaze is being investigated by Vestavia Hills Fire, Vestavia Hills police, the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
All of the units that burned were vacant, but residents of another building in the same complex were evacuated. One firefighter was taken to the hospital where he was treated for medical issues and released.
