COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - North Carolina center Stephanie Mavunga is transferring to Ohio State, leaving the Tar Heels without their entire four-player recruiting class ranked No. 1 nationally in 2013.
The school announced the move Saturday. The 6-foot-3 junior averaged 12.5 points and 8.5 rebounds for North Carolina and earned All-ACC honors as a sophomore last year.
She will enroll at Ohio State this fall and redshirt this season while fulfilling transfer requirements. Mavunga will have two seasons of eligibility remaining beginning in 2016-17. She joins Sierra Calhoun, who transferred to Ohio State this summer after playing 13 games at Duke as a freshman.
Ohio State lost to North Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season.
