BRIDGE CITY, La. (AP) - The two escapees from a juvenile detention center about 20 miles outside New Orleans have been separately captured.

Multiple media outlets report that a 16-year-old boy was arrested Sunday afternoon in Baton Rouge, two days after authorities say he fled the Bridge City Center for Youth with a 15-year-old boy through a hole in a fence.

The 15-year-old boy was surrendered by his family on Saturday.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Col. John Fortunato says the 15-year-old had been incarcerated on three counts of armed robbery, among other charges. The 16-year-old was convicted of six counts of residential burglary.

Officials say the boys escaped after an early morning disturbance in the dorm area of the facility on Friday.

The Associated Press isn’t identifying the teenagers because of their ages.
