BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont woman facing a charge of second-degree murder in a fatal car crash on Interstate 89 is expected to be arraigned.

Prosecutors say 23-year-old Karri Benoir of Barre, Vermont, will be arraigned by phone on Monday.

Police say Benoir intended to kill herself when she crossed the median and hit an oncoming vehicle in Richmond on July 30. The crash killed 30-year-old Brendon Cousino of Richmond, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Benoir was expected to be arraigned on Thursday but the proceeding was postponed because she was in the hospital receiving treatment.

WCAX-TV reports that she has been discharged from the hospital and was moved to a rehabilitation center.
