YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) - Eastern Michigan University says it’s reached a tentative four-year contract with its professors.
The Ypsilanti school said Monday the deal provides for salary increases of 2.5 percent annually and changes to health care plans. The American Association of University Professors has scheduled a ratification vote for Sept. 10-11, and the university’s Board of Regents would then vote at its Oct. 13 meeting.
The current contract expires Aug. 31, and classes begin Sept. 8.
University officials praised both sides for “diligent and highly focused efforts” to reach the deal nearly a month before classes start.
Formal talks started June 18.
