LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police in Las Vegas say a body found near a freeway airport interchange south of McCarran International Airport may be an Asian tourist reported missing during the weekend from a Las Vegas Strip resort.
The body was found about 9 a.m. Tuesday. A positive identification wasn’t immediately made by the Clark County coroner.
Police Officer Michael Rodriguez said investigators were checking whether the body is 84-year-old Thuoc Dong. The name of Dong’s home country wasn’t immediately available.
Detectives are also trying to determine how the body ended up near Warm Springs Road and the 215 Beltway.
Police had said Dong was last seen about 5 p.m. Sunday in the lobby of the MGM Grand resort.
Dong doesn’t speak English, and police said he had signs of early stage Alzheimer’s disease.
