FAIRMONT, W.Va. (AP) - Coaching great Bobby Bowden has paid a visit to Fairmont State’s football team.

Bowden attended the football team’s practice Tuesday and addressed the team afterward on the campus in Fairmont. He talked to the players about the importance of getting an education and playing with ambition.

Bowden was the head coach at West Virginia for six seasons before leaving after the 1975 season for a long career at Florida State.

Fairmont State coach Jason Woodman was a graduate assistant under Bowden at Florida State in 2007.
