OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - U.S. Rep. Jim Bridenstine of Tulsa and Senate President Pro Tem Brian Bingman of Sapulpa are among the Oklahoma leaders endorsing U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential bid.

Cruz’s campaign announced Wednesday that Bridenstine and Bingman are among more than a dozen elected officials on Cruz’s Oklahoma Leadership Team.

Others include Republican state Sens. Gary Stanislawski and Anthony Sykes, and state Reps. David Brumbaugh, David Derby, Dan Fisher, Mark Lepak, Mark McCullough, Michael Rogers, Chuck Strohm, Ken Walker and Justin Wood.

The announcement comes as Cruz is making a swing through several southern states on a tour that began last week in South Carolina and will include three stops in Oklahoma on Thursday.

U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania won Oklahoma’s GOP presidential primary in 2012.
