SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch is endorsing Jeb Bush for president ahead of the former Florida governor’s campaign stop later this month in Salt Lake City.

Sen. Hatch issued a statement Wednesday commending Bush’s record of cutting taxes, creating jobs and reforming government.

Bush’s campaign also confirmed Wednesday that he will be making a private campaign stop in Salt Lake City on Aug. 25. Bush will be appearing at a fundraising luncheon at the home of former U.S. Ambassador John Price.

Price served under President George W. Bush as ambassador to Mauritius, Seychelles and Comoros from 2002-2005.
