BOSTON (AP) - Rep. Niki Tsongas is the latest member of Massachusetts’ all-Democratic congressional delegation to back the nuclear deal with Iran.

Tsongas said the deal, while not perfect, provides the United States and its allies with the best chance to halt Iran building a nuclear weapon by relying on what she called “a comprehensive verification process.”

Tsongas, a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, said she’ll oppose any effort in Congress to block the deal.

Tsongas joins other members of the Massachusetts delegation supporting the deal, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Reps. Stephen Lynch, Seth Moulton and Jim McGovern.

Sen. Edward Markey and Reps. Michael Capuano, William Keating, Joe Kennedy, Richard Neal and Katherine Clark are still weighing the deal.

No member of the state delegation has opposed the deal.
