ST. DAVID, Maine (AP) - Two employees at a Maine potato company have been accused of taking thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen potatoes over the last 4 ½ years and selling them to local businesses and residents in the St. John Valley area.

Police say an investigation by Cyr Potato Corp. in St. David led to about $45,000 worth of sales of stolen potatoes.

The employees have been charged with theft and are scheduled for a court date in November.
