ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A dog that went missing after a car crash on Florida’s Turnpike near Orlando has been found dead.

Orange County Fire Rescue officials reported the death of Stella, a Belgian Malinois shepherd, on its official Twitter account Wednesday night. The tweet thanked the public for support in looking for the dog, but offered no details of where Stella was found.

The dog had been missing since Sunday when owner Linda Parr was involved in a car crash. She had two dogs in the car with her, Stella and a puppy named Leia.

Officials said Leia was taken care of by a family that stopped along the roadway until Parr’s husband could drive up from their home in Miami. But they couldn’t find Stella after the rollover crash.
