ROGERS, Ark. (AP) - A man has been arrested in Oklahoma for the stabbing of his girlfriend in Rogers.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1IMUi8H ) reports a 35-year-old man was arrested in Nowata, Oklahoma, Tuesday on charges of first-degree attempted murder and aggravated assault on a family or household member.

According to the Rogers Police Department, officers responded to a call around 7 p.m. Monday and a 33-year-old woman was found stabbed. She was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

The suspect will be extradited to Arkansas.

This story has been corrected to show the suspect has been arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder, not first-degree murder.
