WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - A New Hanover County jury has convicted a 23-year-old man of first-degree murder and other charges in the shooting death of a delivery driver in Wilmington more than three years ago.

Local media outlets report that Cornell Haugabook was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday. Jurors heard testimony for a week before returning their verdict.

Haugabook was one of six men charged in the slaying of 60-year-old Zhen Bo Liu in June 2012. Two defendants remain to be tried.

Authorities allege the victim was lured to a vacant house with a phony delivery order, and the defendants then demanded money.

According to trial testimony, the victim, a native of Shanghai, China, yelled he had no money before shots were fired.
