MEYERSDALE, Pa. (AP) - Police say they’ve charged a woman who allegedly left the scene of a minor accident - and the man she called to drive her home a short time later - with drunken driving.

Online court records don’t list attorneys for 40-year-old Brandy Fries and 37-year-old James Strope, both of Meyersdale, who face a preliminary hearing Sept. 10.

The (Somerset) Daily American (https://bit.ly/1PmMM95 ) says Meyersdale police responded after someone saw a vehicle drive onto a sidewalk and hit a traffic sign about 11 p.m. June 24.

About a half hour later, police saw Fries’ damaged vehicle and pulled it over, with Strope driving.

Police say Fries acknowledged hitting the sign and calling Strope to pick her up afterward. Police say both had alcohol in their system at more than twice the legal limit for drivers.
