WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) - The U.S. Postal Service plans to move and expand the post office in Watford City.

U.S. Sens. John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp say the project is aimed at better meeting the needs of the growing oil patch city.

A site for the new post office and a timeline for the move haven’t yet been determined.

The Postal Service has struggled to keep up with tremendous growth in oil patch communities in recent years, and residents have complained about long lines and late deliveries.

A second post office opened in Williston about a year ago.
