GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - The Federal Aviation Administration has approved an expansion of unmanned aircraft system testing in North Dakota.

North Dakota is home to one of six drone test sites in the U.S. and also is building the nation’s first unmanned aircraft systems business park, at Grand Forks Air Force Base.

Officials with the Northern Plains UAS Test Site and the FAA say night testing of drones will now be allowed. The entire state also is now available for testing at altitudes higher than 200 feet.
