HARRINGTON, Del. (AP) - A Delaware teenager who allegedly killed his father with a crossbow is scheduled to go to trial in 2016.

Delaware Department of Justice says Seth H. Ramsey is scheduled to be tried in September.

Court records show Ramsey told police he killed his father in December 2014 because he had skipped school and feared his dad would be angry. Ramsey is charged as an adult with first-degree murder.

Police initially went to the family’s home to check on his father, 41-year-old Todd Ramsey, who had failed to show up for work. Troopers found Todd Ramsey dead in a bedroom.
