KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) - Wildfires near Crater Lake National Park have closed part of Highway 230 and visitors at Diamond Lake are on evacuation alert.

KFLS reported Thursday that Highway 230 is closed on a 12-mile stretch between Highway 138 and Hamaker Meadows Road.

Diamond Lake remains open despite the evacuation alert, but getting there will take more time because of the highway closure.

The largest wildfire in that area is the Crescent fire. The lightning-caused blaze is more than 2,000 acres and there’s no containment.
