ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say three suspects have been arrested in connection with the carjacking and kidnapping a Texas law enforcement officer who was vacationing in Orlando.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reports that 18-year-old Dante Askins was arrested Thursday driving another stolen car less than a mile from the hotel parking lot where authorities say federal customs agent Armando Alaniz was confronted at gunpoint by four people on Wednesday night. Two juveniles have also been arrested.

Officials say Alaniz was robbed and pistol whipped while the suspects drove around over the next few hours, before abandoning Alaniz and the vehicle.

The Orlando Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1Lb1oGV) reports that all three face charges of armed kidnapping, carjacking and battery with a firearm.

Orange County Sheriff Demings said at a news conference Friday that federal charges are also possible.

The fourth suspect remains at large.
