KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Companies seeking backing for their new animal health products will get a chance to make a pitch to investors next month in Kansas City.

Technologies that will be on display include obesity prevention treatments for pets, odor control products for litter boxes and an antibiotic alternative for poultry. Organizers of the KC Animal Health Investment Forum say more than 20 venture capital firms and other investors are expected to attend.

The event takes place Sept. 1 at the Kansas City Convention Center.
