SMITHS STATION, Ala. (AP) - Alabama authorities say a 57-year-old woman is dead after a highway crash in Smiths Station.

WTVM-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1TAztYm ) the crash happened Thursday morning on U.S. 431. Authorities say a Chevrolet Corvette crashed into the side of a Chevrolet Metro that had pulled out in front of it.

Lee County Coroner Bill Harris identified the woman who was killed as Synde Conder of Smiths Station. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

State troopers are still investigating what caused the crash.
