BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore’s police chief says a city firefighter was shot in the hand and another person was wounded in a shooting.

Chief Kevin Davis says both victims are expected to survive their injuries. He described the gunman as a “brazen, arrogant criminal.” Police are searching for a suspect.

Davis says the gunman got into a dispute inside a cellphone store and went outside. Davis says the man drew a gun and started firing indiscriminately into the store. He says the 43-year-old firefighter and a 65-year-old man came around the corner, and the gunman turned toward them and shot them.

Davis says the firefighter was on duty and in uniform.

This story has been corrected to note that the firefighter was on duty.
