SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) - An outpouring of donations is keeping the Cochise County Democratic Headquarters from moving into a trailer due to funding constraints.

The Sierra Vista Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1TB7kLx) that the group was asking for 100 new donors willing to give $10 each month to prevent the transition. Democratic chairwoman Sharon Thomas said the public responded with more than what was needed once they learned the office could close.

One donor matched contributions, which ranged in value from $10 to $200 and came from a variety of sources. Thomas said people she’d never met walked into the office to deliver checks.

The office will be open through the 2016 election season, and officials have negotiated a cheaper lease on a larger location.
