CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - Police in Conway say a 27-year-old man who acknowledged having tested positive for the virus that causes AIDS has been arrested on a complaint that he raped a teenager.

Spokeswoman LaTresha Woodruff says the man was arrested Thursday after the mother of the teenager reported the allegation in July. Woodruff said Friday the man has told police he is HIV positive.

Police say the child met the man through an application on a cellphone and provided the man a home address. The teen said the man came to the home while the mother was at work and that the two had sexual contact.

Police say the teenager informed the mother of the incident after learning that the man is HIV positive.
