EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - County officials have approved nearly $720,000 to make improvements to the Old National Events Plaza convention center in Evansville.

The Evansville Courier and Press reports (https://bit.ly/1f81LXl ) that Building Authority Director told Vanderburgh County commissioners this week that the facility needs a partial new roof and minor upgrades, like new curtains and cabinets. The county’s executive board approved the upgrades Tuesday.

About $445,000 of the money for the upgrades will come from funds leftover from when Old National Bank paid for naming rights. That will leave $350,000 in the fund.

The 280,000-square-foot facility includes an exhibit hall, auditorium, ballroom and meeting rooms.
