MILWAUKEE (AP) - A 24-year-old Milwaukee man has been sentenced to 155 years in prison after he was convicted of committing six sexual assaults, five of them last fall.

Robert Brown was sentenced Thursday after he was found guilty by a jury in June on charges including first-degree sexual assault. Prosecutors say he approached five people on the street from September to December, and led them to a secluded area at gunpoint.

Brown was also convicted in the 2012 sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.

Milwaukee police learned in September that evidence at the scene of a Sept. 2 assault was matched to Brown’s DNA. Prosecutors weren’t sent the case until December. The lead detective and her sergeant were demoted.

Brown’s attorney had asked for a 60-year prison sentence and 20 years of extended supervision.
