MANY, La. (AP) - Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies have recovered skeletal remains in a wooded area near Zwolle.

Sheriff’s spokesman Joe Dewil, in a news release, said deputies were responding to a call of a vehicle parked on a hunting lease when they found the remains near the vehicle.

KTBS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1haZUmo ) the vehicle and registered driver, 36-year-old Morris W. Davenport III was reported missing July 9 by Converse Police Chief Keith Manshack. He had not been seen since July 2 after leaving a job site in Many.

Investigators have not determined a cause of death and are attempting to positively identify the remains.

Investigators received help Thursday from anthropologists with the LSU FACES Lab from Baton Rouge.
