CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The Veterans Administration as opened a new health clinic in northern New Hampshire, as part of a plan to expand coverage to veterans.

New Hampshire Public Radio reports (https://bit.ly/1N7kfpu) the new clinic opened in Colebrook, located about eight miles from the Canadian border.

The opening follows calls by New Hampshire’s congressional delegation for more facilities in the area.

Doctors with the White River Junction Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Vermont say the clinic is using exam rooms and office space at the Indian Stream Health Center. They say the clinic will open two days a week to start, but that they want to open it every weekday as more staff members are hired.

An expanded clinic also opened in June in Littleton. Officials say the VA is still looking for space in Berlin.
