LIVONIA, La. (AP) - State police say a 61-year-old man has died in a head-on collision with an ambulance on Louisiana Highway 411 in Pointe Coupee Parish.

Investigators say Brett Bergeron, of Lottie, was traveling southbound about 7 p.m. Friday when his pickup truck, for unknown reasons, crossed the center line. It struck a northbound Acadian Ambulance.

Bergeron was fatally injured. A state police news release says the Pointe Coupee Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene.

The ambulance driver and a passenger had minor injuries.
