CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - Health officials have cleared an eastern Iowa Taco Bell to reopen after the remnants of a methamphetamine lab were cleaned up.

The Linn County Health Department decided the restaurant was safe after two rounds of environmental testing, but the company hasn’t decided when it will reopen.

The restaurant has to restock food and supplies that were thrown out during the cleanup, and the company says it is retraining staff before reopening.

Earlier this month, police arrested two men on suspicion they were trying to make methamphetamine inside the restaurant’s utility area. One of the men was a Taco Bell employee who was fired after the arrests.
