SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A decision from a Sioux Falls judge is expected next week that will determine whether a teenager charged with murder should be tried as a juvenile.

Conner Hanson is charged in adult court despite being 17 years old in January, when 18-year-old Anthony Gabriel was shot and killed after a fight over a woman.

A two-day hearing on the issue wrapped up Friday. KELO-TV reports Circuit Court Judge Robin Houwman is expected to decide on Thursday.

Prosecutors allege Hanson fired shots at Gabriel’s car after a pursuit through Sioux Falls. Gabriel died from a gunshot wound to the head. Hanson has pleaded not guilty.

Nineteen-year-old Robert Montes also was charged in the killing. He pleaded guilty Monday to being an accessory and is expected to testify against Hanson.
